Mysterious Email Messages And A Pair Of Platform Shoes…?

Platform Shoes

Sherbet dib-dabs, The Sweeney, bubble lamps and watching Top of the Pops every Thursday evening… Fond memories of the 1970s and a hankering for a simpler, less complicated world were the inspiration for this contemporary short story. Platform Shoes by Marie Savakis will transport the reader on an intriguing and unique journey, through an amusing and compelling look back into life in 1970s Britain.

Stella’s life is going nowhere, her marriage to Dave at a standstill. Stella and Carol have been friends for years, sharing the latest office gossip. Out of the blue, Stella starts receiving anonymous emails and letters. A pair of platform shoes is then sent through the post.

Jack, Stella’s boss, unexpectedly asks her out, and they discover a mutual interest in the seventies. Stella soon realises what is missing from her marriage as she falls deeply in love with Jack.

Jack’s past life in New York soon catches up with him, when he receives an urgent phone call from his ex-wife.

Can the past influence the present and the future, and just who is Stella’s unknown correspondent – friend or enemy?
